I know how hard it is to lose someone you love.  I did not know Melissa or Lil' Eric but from what I have heard from Amber and my sister Erica that they were two of the happiest people and they always had smiles on their faces.  Getting that phone call the morning Melissa had past was quite a shock.  You must always be strong for the ones you love and I tried really hard to be there for Amber and my sister Erica. I am really sorry for the lose of both Melissa and Eric JR. but you must always  remember the good times you have had with them.  Those memories will last more then life itself, knowing how many times you held them or made them laugh even the times they have cried.  The love you have for them will keep them alive in your heart and they both are waiting and watching the family up in heaven.

I want you to know that you are not alone. We all grieve in our own way, But God is laways there. He is just a prayer away. I lost my dad in 1982 at the age of 48, then my baby sister in 1985 at the age of 15, she was also murdered. In 2003 my son Matthew was murdered at the age of 17. Loss is no friend, or stranger to me.  Your pain will never go away...but with time it will become more bearable. No one can tell you that it will get "better"...we all know that it doesn't, and the pain never stops.   Just know that Eric is holding Jesus' hand now. And he is back in the arms of his mother. Easter in heaven with his mother is the best gift Eric could have gotten...there is no better place to have the best Easter. We will always miss our loved ones, tradgedy is no stranger to any of us. I know I cry all the time, and it has been 3 years now since my Matthew passed.  God be with you and your family, and you wilo all be in my prayers, lifting you up to heaven to say hello. We might not be able to see them or touch them, or even hear them, but they are always with us. Remember that. It does help. As long as they live in your heart they are always alkive living through us.

Dearest Joan,
How my heart breaks for you, I can not put into words!  These past months we've shared in our loss as grandmas and mother's of grieving mama's, but I am at a loss to know what to say or how to help you today.  I can only imagine what you and your family are going through and wish there was something that could ease your pain now and in the days to come.  We both know grief all too well.
I know that Eric, as Sarah Faith, is with Jesus and now has his mommy to hold and hug and kiss him and never ever have to let go of him again. That would be for me the only consolation as I pray it is and will continue to be for you and all of your family.  
Please know that I will be lifting you all up in prayer and I am always willing to listen if and when you need an ear and heart that cares.  I know that you love Eric and your daughter so very much, and it has been as hard for you to watch her pain and sorrow as it has been for me, and to also bare your grief for Eric.  And, now to have this loss as well, feels so very unfair.  I pray that the comfort of knowing she loved Jesus and that Eric has his mommy holding him tight will be a comfort and a mental picture you can carry in your heart to help you and give you comfort and strength.  You and your family are loved and have always been in my prayers, but I will be lifting up extra prayers and asking for others to do the same for God to grant you strength, courage, comfort, and healing in the days, and months to come.
I am just so very, very sorry and wish I could do more.

I cannot even begin to say how very sorry I am to hear of your loss. There are no words that can comfort you when something so unnatural happens in your life. Sweet little Eric is in the arms of his mommy today and she can watch him run and play and hear his laughter. She suffers no more with longing to be with her baby boy. Things like this go beyond any comprehension and I feel the pain of every mother who lives with the heartache of losing their child. Your beautiful daughter's  heartache has ended at the cost of yours doubling. As mother's we always want to take the pain away from our children, but for it to mean living without that child is never in our plan. All I can hope for is that God will lay is healing hands upon you and pour his strength and love into you and your family. In church this morning a lady spoke of her small child's reaction to losing their family pet, though it can in no way compare to your pain, the end result of the story was inspiring. She told her child that 'sugar' had gone to be with Jesus and the child responded with such wisdom when she said that Jesus had come down from the clouds and swooped up sugar and carried her to Heaven with Him.  This  was for me, something that created a mental picture that was very reassuring. To picture my precious baby in His loving arms, rising into paradise. I have tried so hard to find a way to make the day my Sarah passed less horrible, an all but impossible task. I have chosen to try to think of that day as a rebirth rather than a death. That was the day she was born into Heaven and found eternal peace. I only wish I had an answer for how to ease this pain. I believe that the more we love someone, the more we grieve for them. Your grief is a testament to the great love you have in your heart. From one grieving mother to another, heartfelt sympathy and unending prayer... God be with you.

I am hurting so much for us here, but I am sooooo happy that you are with Eric again. For the past 10 months you have been waiting for the moment when you would get to see him and hold him again.  I love you and miss you so much already.  Me and mom were talking just now and she said she can just see you pushing your way and not even trying to wait for clearance to get into Heaven to see your baby boy. Just running past all of them into those pearly gates.  Is it as beautiful as we think of it here on earth? I bet you haven't even put Eric down yet.  What about Dad and Max?  Were they there waiting too?  I know you have missed them too.  It can almost make me jealous.  I will not say I want to see you soon because I want to be here to help with Mariah.  She is going to need her Auntie Amber because she won't know her mommy.  I know that she is going to need as much family as she can on your side. We know how it is to not have our dad or any of his brothers or sisters to even try to know our dad. We don't know anything from when he was younger because of that. I want Mia to know that her mom was such a funny person, and fun-loving, and that she did not deserve to die this way. I love you and will miss you always! I will watch for you in my dreams.
